Iris Bin
Info
Iris Bin is a motion-responsive dustbin designed to make a simple everyday interaction more intuitive and hands-free. Using an ultrasonic sensor and servo motor, the bin detects when a person approaches and automatically opens its lid, exploring how everyday objects can sense human presence and respond through movement. The project focuses on creating a seamless connection between human action, sensing, and physical response.

PRoblem Statement:
โขTrash bins overflow and need touching to use.
โขPublic bins lack sensors for hands - free interaction.
โขInconsistent or fixed lids are inconvenient and unhygienic
Why this project is multisensory?
How might we design a smart waste bin that enables hygienic touchless interaction while preventing overflow and improving the overall waste disposal experience?
